QS-Subject-Ranking: Seven Austrian universities among the top 50

The University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (mdw) achieved the third place in the subject "Performing Arts" .

Seven Austrian universities have made it into the top 50 in one of 48 study subjects in the current "QS World University Rankings by Subject".

The best individual result was achieved by the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (mdw): It was able to gain third place in the performing arts, which it shares with the US Juilliard School.

The University of Vienna reached rank 25 in "Classical Philology and Ancient History". The University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna achieved rank 25, the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences (BOKU) in the field of agriculture and forestry got to rank 32. The University of Vienna also featured with communication sciences (rank 30) and archeology (rank 37).

The Central European University (CEU), which recently moved to Vienna and is now also located in Vienna, has twice been among the top 50, although it was still rated as a Hungarian university by the ranking operators. It scored 30th place in political science and 37th place in philosophy.
