Starting in autumn 2025, FH JOANNEUM will offer a new field of study, E-Sports Business and Management, as part of its Master's programme in Health, Tourism and Sports Management at its Bad Gleichenberg campus. The part-time programme is aimed at anyone who wants to use gaming professionally – for example, as an event manager, content creator or marketing professional in the e-sports sector.

The four-semester programme was developed in collaboration with representatives from the e-sports scene, including VulkanLAN, the Austrian E-Sports Association (ESVÖ) and A1. The focus is on economic fundamentals, game theory, community management and the organisation of e-sports events.

The programme starts on 29 September 2025. Applications are now being accepted.
