THe University College of Teacher Education Tyrol (PHT) is situated in Innsbruck, one of the most beautiful cities in Austria. Surrounded by mountains, the city is not only one of the hotspots for culture and education in western Austria; it is also famous for sports in winter and summer time.

Faculties and programmes

The University College of Teacher Education Tyrol (PHT) offers courses leading to a bachelor’s and master's degree in education and teaching qualifications for: Early Childhood Education | Primary Schools | Secondary Schools | Apprenticeship Schools and Vocational Colleges | Home Economics and Nutrition Pedagogy | Information and Communication.
In addition, degree students can gain a teaching qualification in pre-vocational year education.
Short cycle course: Recreational and Extra-Curricular Educators
The PHT also offers a large variety of in-service courses for more than 11,000 teachers in Tyrol.

Specials

Incoming students are warmly welcome to our University College. The PHT offers a varietey of courses. Students can attend practically-oriented courses for future teachers, like Craft & Design/Art, P.E. or Music, and seminars especially designed for our incoming students. About educational systems in Europe, cultural awareness, trends & New Media or The European Union. In addition, students can do teaching practice at local primary or lower secondary schools and a German language course. For staff from partner universities the University College of Teacher Education Tyrol organises an International Week where they are invited to teach or to attend workshops. During this week exchange in different fields of expertise, teaching and administrative work takes place.
