University of Vienna again ranked best Austrian university in the ShanghaiRanking

With this placement, the University of Vienna is the highest-ranked Austrian university and the only one in the Top 200.

The latest Academic Ranking of World Universities 2025 confirms: the University of Vienna maintains its position in the 101–150 ranking group, remaining Austria’s top-ranked university. The University of Vienna has been listed in this group since 2023. It also performed strongly in the Subject Rankings, with nine subjects ranked in the global Top 100.
