New research centre for digitalisation

The digital platforms and ecosystems of companies such as Google, Apple and Amazon are global leaders and have been extremely successful. Europe is lagging far behind in this area. Campus 02 is seeking to address this issue by establishing the Josef Ressel Research Centre for Digital Platforms.

The centre will research key technologies and develop strategies to enable European companies to compete more effectively with US corporations such as Google, Amazon and Airbnb. Director René Hubert Kerschbaumer emphasises that Europe needs a stronger presence in the field of digital platforms. The centre is financed 50% by public funds and 50% by partners such as Raiffeisen-Landesbank Steiermark.
