The Inter-University Research Institute for Agricultural Biotechnology IFA-Tulln is celebrating 30 years of successful cooperation between BOKU University, TU Wien, and the University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna. Since its foundation in 1994, the joint research initiative has developed from a bold experiment into an internationally recognized flagship of interdisciplinary science.

A symposium marking the anniversary highlighted both the institute’s achievements and its future outlook. With strong scientific output, significant third-party funding, and close collaboration with industry partners, IFA-Tulln continues to serve as a key driver of research, innovation, and regional development in Austria. Under the vision “IFA 2030+,” the platform aims to further expand its role and strengthen its focus on agricultural and environmental biotechnology.
