Austrian Centre at Fudan University celebrates its 20th anniversary

Over 140 guests attended the special event, which took place on a ship on the Bund in the heart of Shanghai, creating a unique atmosphere with its extraordinary backdrop. The evening was opened with music by an Austrian singer, followed by speeches from several dignitaries, including Dr Jakob Calice, Consul General Helmut Rakowitsch, Prof. Dr Chen Zhimin, Vice President of Fudan University, and Gloria Reim, Director of the Austrian Centre, who emphasised the importance of bilateral academic exchange and the role of institutions such as the Cooperation Office and the Austrian Centre. The speeches were complemented by a video message from Prof. Dr. Josef Strobl, President of Eurasia Pacific Uninet. Afterwards, there was ample opportunity for personal exchange and networking. We would like to thank all alumni who made the long journey to attend – a sign of their strong connection to their alma mater and the enduring value of intercultural academic exchange!
