The two-year programme at the Interdisciplinary Transformation University (IT:U) in Linz is open to bachelor’s graduates from all disciplines who wish to expand their expertise with digital skills and knowledge in artificial intelligence, data analysis, and key digital technologies. The first cohort brings together 40 students from 18 countries, reflecting the university’s strong international focus.
At the core of the programme is project-based learning in so-called LearnLabs, where students work hands-on with technologies such as virtual reality, robotics, and AI. Depending on their chosen specialisation – such as Digital Humanities, Designing Interactions, or Future Industries – they develop data-driven solutions to real-world challenges.
With around 40 percent women among the first cohort, IT:U also aims to promote gender equality in STEM fields and to inspire more women to pursue interdisciplinary technical studies in the future.
