Bachelor's degree programme strengthens training for early childhood educators in Vienna

From October 2026, training for early childhood educators in Vienna will be offered as a bachelor's degree programme for the first time. With this launch, the University College of Teacher Education Vienna is responding to the growing demand for qualified professionals in early childhood education institutions and the increasing technical and organisational requirements in the field.

The six-semester bachelor's degree programme comprehensively prepares students for the professional education and care of children aged 0 to 6. In addition to developmental psychology and didactic principles, the programme focuses on inclusive education, language development, and team and leadership skills.

The programme is aimed at prospective students with a university entrance qualification or equivalent qualification. Applications for the programme will be accepted from 9 February 2026.
