APART-USA offers 25 fellowships

The APART-USA funding program by the Austrian Academy of Sciences is made possible through a €10 million contribution from the Fonds Zukunft Österreich and supports top postdoctoral researchers currently affiliated with U.S. research institutions who wish to continue their work in Austria amid global research uncertainty.

The APART-USA funding program by the Austrian Academy of Sciences is made possible through a €10 million contribution from the Fonds Zukunft Österreich and supports top postdoctoral researchers currently affiliated with U.S. research institutions who wish to continue their work in Austria amid global research uncertainty. It offers 25 fellowships, each worth €500,000 over four years, to be shared between the Austrian host institution and the Fonds Zukunft Österreich. Eligible Austrian institutions nominate candidates based on research funding performance. Nominations are open to researchers of any nationality who completed a doctorate and were affiliated with a U.S. institution until at least January 1, 2025. Approved applications are fast-tracked to enable a quick research start in Austria.

Start of the call for applications: 4 July 2025
Deadline for submission: 15 September 2025
