The University College of Teacher Education Lower Austria offers initial teacher training for primary education and secondary teacher education (in cooperation with the University of Vienna). The excellent reputation of the courses offered by the University College of Teacher Education Lower Austria is based on a solid foundation in academic subjects combined with an accompanying school practice. Besides our bachelor’s and master’s studies, we provide a wide variety of study programmes in the field of continuous teacher education and further education for all types of teachers. Furthermore, our learning opportunities provide training courses in other pedagogical and social areas.

The University College of Teacher Education Lower Austria is located in Baden and was founded in 2007. Baden, a spa town with about 30000 inhabitants, is situated 23 km south of Vienna in the east of the Vienna Woods.

Currently, we have about 77600 enrolments in full-time and part-time programmes at the University College of Teacher Education and 40000 enrolments in advanced teacher training and further education. We currently offer students an eight-semester programme leading to the degree “Bachelor of Education” and a two-semester programme that concludes with a “Master of Education” as well as eight Master’s degree programmes. We offer intensive teaching practicum for all new students as well courses for our incoming students from abroad. An important aspect in our further development our strong commitment to lifelong learning in a European and international context.
