Effective science communication is essential for bridging the gap between science and the public, especially when it comes to complex, highly politicized topics such as climate mobility. Science slams are an entertaining format for this purpose. Alexander Deppert founded this format in Germany in 2006, modeling it on poetry slams, which have been around for over 50 years.
Before and after the science slams in Marburg, Germany, which are the subject of this study, a short survey on climate mobility narratives was conducted, and a discussion took place at the end of the event. The results show that the science slams had a significant impact on the audience's agreement with the narratives discussed during the event, while agreement with narratives not discussed remained unchanged.
