Vienna Biocenter receives EUR 60 million in funding

The Vienna Biocenter receives 60 million euros from the federal government and the city of Vienna for the acquisition and operation of research infrastructure and the provision of research services for the institutes and facilities.

The Vienna Biocenter (VBC), one of the leading European centers in the field of life sciences, locates top research institutions such as the Institute for Molecular Biotechnology (IMBA), the Gregor Mendel Institute (GMI), the Max Perutz Labs (MFPL) and the Institute for Molecular Pathology (IMP). Furthermore, it houses institutions and training programs of the University of Vienna, the Medical University of Vienna and the FH Campus Wien, and 38 biotech companies.
